2023 Year End Wrap Up

And What a Year It’s Been, too!

Pristine (cold 60F/15C) water of Gallanach Bay, Isle of Muck.
Special Antares Charts were required to navigate our way through the tricky entrance to this secluded bay.

We started and ended the year in Ireland, and while it’s just 100 miles from Cahersiveen to Kinsale, we put over 2,200 cruising miles under the keel between April and October. We mostly cruised in scenic western Scotland, but we also did a North Sea passage to The Netherlands, and two English Channel crossings, the first was southwest from The Netherlands back to England and the second was from England south to Brittany, France.

  1. It’s been a while since we were in contact. I was on LinkedIn and saw your name pop up. Just read your end of year blog entry about 2023. Quite the read. Love it. Life in Costa Rica has become more challenging financially as we were not prepared for such turmoil in the world economy. We’re visiting family in Wilmington, NC right now. Only been here a week or so and ready to return to our tropical weather and leave this cold rain behind. Glad to read that your Sunward is still performing well and that you and Vickie are getting more out of it than most Sunward owners I’ve ever read about. Write when you find time. Most importantly enjoy your journey to the fullest. Wally Tucker. hiswally@gmail.com
